Born with given name of Willaim Dean Elder, birth records say both the 25th and the 26th, adoption decree says 26th. Born at Salvation Army Women's & Children's Home in Denver CO. Blond curly hair, blue eyes, 6lbs 10oz. Mother 19, maiden name Elder, 5'8" tall, brown hair, blue eyes, 135lbs., did domestic work at that time, had a 9th grade education and was Methodist. Father unknown expect he was either 30 or 38 (paperwork states two different ages), an insurance agent, Protestant, last name ends with the letter "w", though we have no further information, he reliquinished all rights. I went to the State Home for Abused and Neglected Children on Oct. 4th, it is not known if I stayed in the hospital until then, though did have respiratory problems at birth. Adopted on Dec. 18th to Howard and Pauline Sackett. If there is anyone out there that has any information on what might be any birth family, please feel free to contact me. I am helping Brian seek out his birthfamily. He was born in Pa (probably Pittsburgh) in 1969 we think..could be 1968. Allegheny Adoption Agency supposedly handled the private adoption.. The lawyers name we are told was Ronald Leslie Sr. The birthdate we have is 01-27-69, but none of this information has been confirmed. ISO Bfamily My search may be more difficult than some in that my aparents were told that my mother was from Sweden. I was born March 31, 1960 in General Rose Hospital, now Rose Memorial. I was adopted through Family and Children's Services three days after my birth. I was raised knowing I was adopted and had a very loving afamily. My aparents were told that my bmother was blond/blue and my bfather was brown/brown and French-Canadian. He was supposed to have been a shoe salesman. My bmother was either 32 or 36, paperwork shows two ages. I was adopted as 'baby girl Johnson'. Judge Gilliam signed my apapers, which have subsequently been misplaced, so all of this is by memory from my teens. When I was pregnant with my daughter, in 1980, I called somewhere, again old memories, but maybe Florence Critenton and was told that my bmother was brown/brown, 5'6", 130, an office manager with a bachelor's degree and that my bfather was "mediterranean" which normally meant Sicilian. Who knows now (frustration). She was supposed to have been here from Sweden, with her parents at some point, and was reported to have returned there. If anyone has a clue as to how to go about finding a Johnson in Sweden I'd appreciate the help :). It's great to have this resource, as "hearing" all of your stories makes me not feel alone. Some "weird" developments have arisen since I began my search, so now I'm not sure if who I am looking for is indeed my bmom. I have found one Adela Marin (thanks to a list ANGEL!) living 40 miles from Las Cruces, where I was born, raised, and still live. I haven't contacted this person yet--I don't know what to do/how to contact her.
