Comment: Article after article I read about the "child sexual abuse scandal" in the Catholic Church. With over 90% (some estimate as high as 95%) of the victims young males, this is not about child abuse/pedophiles, it is about homosexual predators. I am getting to a point where I am losing a lot of respect for the media. That is assuming I had any respect for them to begin with.

No, I don't see me as a Mini Mizer

One thing I miss about being stationed in Germany was the castles! Now you can see the Castle of the Day.

While looking for a Java search applet this past week, I came upon JavaPowered.Com. It's not the Java that is so interesting, this guy can FLASH!

At CrossFire, PCC's youth group, questions were posed to a panel of adults concerning various topics. This was my first time attending the youth group at PCC and I was mostly observing. This is a brave thing for a youth leader to do, because these questions needed to be answered without much time to think about what should be said.

One of the question asked, "Why is smoking marijuana wrong?" While the panel did a good job answering the question, they did not answer it quite as well as they could. One member talked about the illegality of the drug, and how it could damage your cells. These are adult answers to young people.

First, I want to make it clear, that God places us under a government or authority (Roman 13:1-3) and expects us to obey that authority, as long as it didn't usurp God's presence in our life. So we should be expected to obey the laws passed by that authority, whether it is illegal to smoke marijuana, or breaking the speed limit.

Fine, but what if it wasn't illegal? Most teens (and some adults) would argue that drinking is probably more harmful, and that alcohol IS legal. Now is the time to ask yourself the question, why do I want to drink or take a drug? Am I really serious about a relationship with God? Why would I want to do something that would get between me and God. Drinking will interfer with your relationship with God. That is why most Christians don't drink. Marijuana (and any other drug) will also get between you and God. That is the crux of it all.

I will have another question from the group, and answer later this week.

Prayer Request: For the missionary couple/friends who's 13 week old child died in the womb. This situation has still not resolved. The have gone to induce labor, but it looks like they will have to do a D&C. Please pray for a natural abortion to occur, that everything that gets expelled.

Responses to things we don't understand can be questions, any question. It just that God is God and we, his created do not have the right to the answers for some of our questions. Sometimes, when we question in our efforts to understand or seek the purpose of God, the questions are simply unanswerable.

Prayer Request: A hate-group (World Church of the Creator) will be having a rally at a local library on Saturday. Our church will in prayer during their meeting, which starts at 12 noon. We pray that God may soften their hearts, that they learn the true meaning of Christian love.

Do you drink Coffee?

Unconventional summarines? How about purchasing your own from Seahorse submarines? Maybe, if you have a few million dollars hanging around, you can have your Underwater Yacht built. The German U-boats struck fear in the seaman's heart. Today we have several types of submarines, hunting and hiding in the waters off our coasts. From the Ballistic Missile subs, Russian subs, even subs used to smuggling! While there are plenty of submarines all over the world, available to visit, the one I think I am most fascinated by is the CSS H. L. Hunley, which is in the process of being recovered. Visit the official site! NOVA has a great interactive site about subs, and you can also visit Marshall Brian's How-It-Works website for submarines. You can access this list of German Uboats or visit a British sub page or map your way to a sunken wreck.

Prayer Request:Martin and Gracia Burnham, two workers with New Tribes Mission, have been held by the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group in the Philippines for 10 months. News reports said the United States government helped deliver a $300,000 ransom paid by a private organization to the terrorists before Easter -- with no sign the Burnhams were released as promised. The US government apparently hoped it could catch the terrorists when the ransom was paid. Cry out to the Lord on behalf of the Burnhams and
their loved ones. Ask God to preserve them and give them grace and strength to endure this trial. Pray that the Lord would use their captivity to convict rebels of their need for salvation. Ask him to set the Burnhams free and return them to their family.
