I am an 1985 graduate of UMASS - Dartmouth, back when the school was called
Southeastern Massachusetts University. I have a BA in Fine Arts, specializing
in printmaking.
I got a job here in 1991, originally working for UNISYS
at NASA Langley. The contract has since changed hands and I am with the current contractor,
NCI. I moved my family here to
Hampton,
Virginia from
Boston,
Massachusetts where I worked
at MIT. Actually, MIT is located in
Cambridge, Massachusetts, not Boston, and is not to be
confused with Cambridge,
England.
Harvard is also located in Cambridge and is a victim of many
MIT Hacks.
There are a lot more details concerning my work history on my resume.
It was hard not to run out the back door at work to watch the jet fighters from
Langley AFB, every time they flew
overhead. F-15s, A-10s, an occasional A-6 Intruder or F-18 Hornet from Oceana could be
seen flying overhead. Last year (1995) we
got our first look at the B2 Bomber . The command for the
Thunderbird s
is also located here.
My first artwork was an "F-15 Eagle", which several people admired. One person bought it on the spot and commissioned 6 more pieces.
Contrary to popular belief, (and of course, let's not forget about local lore...)
my photo did not come from a
FBI most
Wanted Poster.
You probably couldn't tell that I have many and widely varied interests. From
artwork to aviation
to GOD (as the bumper sticker goes...Thank God for Jesus Christ!).
My bookmark file is constantly growing. One bookmark that should be of interest to fellow artists
is the World Wide Web Arts Resource.
Then there's the Confederate Air Force'sOld Dominion Squadron, which has been known to lug some of my art
work to some of the East Coast air shows. Jane's is also a good place to go. If you
work for NASA Langley Research Center, then it's a good idea to keep up with the various current
(or past) shuttle launch information.
