North Carolina  Chowan County
      I Thomas E Forehand of the aforesaid county and state , being of sound mind , but considering the uncertaintity of my earthly existance , do make and declare this my last will and testament.
First=My executator hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all funeral expenses together with all my just debts , out of the money which may come into her hands belonging to my estate,
Second =I give and devise to my beloved wife Emmie the track of land on which I now reside containing thirty seven acres, her natural life
I give to my wife Emmie one track of land adjoining Happy (Hobby?) Home Church ground containing twenty four acres her natural life.
Third = I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Emmie all of my chattles to wit mules hogs farming impliments or any other chattle that belongs to me at my death of all descriptions
Fourth =I give to my son Eddie one track of land containing ten acres adjoining W H Twine W E Forehand and others.
Fifth =I give devise and bequeath to my son Eddie the residue of my property both real and personal at my wife’s death.
Sixth =I hereby appoint my beloved wife Emmie to execute this my last will and testament.
 In witness whereof I the said Thomas E Forehand do hereunto set my hand and seal this12 day of July 1932.
