This indenture made this 11th day of February 1832 between Nathan Askew of New Hanover County of one part and James Wallace of Onslow County of the other part both of North Carolina.witnesseth that the said Nathan Askew has for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars good and lawful money of North Carolina to him in hand paid by the said James Wallace, the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said Nathan Askew is therewith satisfied and paid and does therefore by these presents bargain sell setover and confirm unto the said James Wallace his heirs and assigns forever a certain small tract or parcel of land in the county of Onslow situated on the little northwest branch of  New River joining the land of Abner Erwin and James Glenn Sr. being the land willed by Nathan Askew deceased to my father Enoch Askew during his the said Enoch’s natural life and then to my mother should she survive the said Enoch during her natural life or widowhood and at her death to me the said Nathan Askew and my brother James Askew his heirs and assigns forever and the said James having departed this life said land of course descended to me the said Nathan Askew which said tract of land and all the privileges advantages appurtenances hereditaments and privileges there to belonging or appertaining I the said Nathan Askew do from myself my heirs executors administrators or assigns and the lawful claims of any person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal date aforesaid
